Islamic Council warns of increasing Islamophobia
Last year there were 813 attacks on Muslims and mosques in Germany. This is the result of a response by the Federal Ministry of the Interior to a small question from the Left Group. The Federal Government points out that by late registrations the final numbers are likely to be even higher.
A recent analysis by the Islamic Council for the Federal Republic of Germany with the title: "Anti-Muslim Racism and Discrimination in Germany - An Overview" comes to a similar conclusion. "Attacks on Muslims and their institutions are increasing. Unfortunately, anti-Muslim racism is widespread. This is the result of many years of propaganda against Muslims. (...) But it does not stop at words, but the hate against Muslims leads more and more into violence. Muslims are insulted in the street, mobbed and more violently attacked. The inhibition threshold to violence has never been so deep, "it says in the press release of the religious community.
