Environmental groups plan to sue U.S. Steel over air pollution
Two environmental organizations have notified the U.S. Steel Corp. that they will file a federal lawsuit alleging ongoing violations of the U.S. Clean Air Act at the company’s Clairton Coke Works, and Edgar Thomson and Irvin steel mills.
 
The 60-day notice of intent to sue was filed with the company, as well as county, state and federal environmental regulatory agencies Wednesday by the Clean Air Council and PennEnvironment.
