The World is Bigger Than G20 as Well!
The World is Bigger Than G20 as Well!
G20 Summit which brings most economically powerful 20 countries together will be held in November 15-16 in Turkey. It is indispensable that the necessary steps should be taken to find solutions to the problems in this summit in which Turkey will take part as host country and president.
The interest-oriented policies of the states controlling the 90% of the world economy negatively affect the rest of the world. For this reason, a more just political mechanism which prioritizes the interests of the whole world should be established.
Most of the global companies which are financially more developed than many states take part in G20 countries.
The activities of these companies in areas of energy, health, finance, information and food pose a great risk for common interests of humanity. So these companies should be more just, transparent and accountable.
In recent years, there has been a great increase in the numbers of refugees due to civil war and poverty.
According to official datas, this number reached 60 million. Even though millions of people have become refugees because of the ongoing civil war in Syria, it is quite obvious that the most developed G20 countries do not take the necessary steps against this trouble. It is necessary for G20 countries to take concrete steps in terms of sharing the burden in this process which Turkey embraces 2.5 million Syrians undertaking a historic mission.
Hunger and poverty increasingly go up due to the income distribution inequalities and more than one billion people struggle against misery.
To be able to solve this problem, inequality in income distribution should be eliminated. It should be provided that the wealth of the continent should stay in the continent, especially in Africa.
The terrorist attack carried out in Paris just before the G20 Summit cannot be dissociated from these global problems. It is inevitable that the chaotic atmosphere created by the policies of the global actors give rise to many problems which drag humanity into disaster, especially the terror. In such an environment, these problems continue to threaten the world and similar troubles will continue to show up.
Portraying Muslims as a target, mosque arson attacks, anti-Islam assaults as happened in the past after these kind of attacks as well should be prevented. The problem of terror should be handled in a more credible and realist manner. Also, it should not be allowed that this incident legitimizes the tough attitute towards the refugees in political and social arena.  This should be one of the primary issues of the G20 Summit.
We hope that concrete steps to eliminate the global problems will be taken in G20 Summit. The global actors should realize that the undeserved power in their hands does not only belong to them. The states of the platform are responsible for creating these problems with their power and they should be responsible in eliminating these problems as well. It is necessary to adopt an understanding that the other 185 countries’ interests are observed as well for the summit to prompt positive outcomes for humanity.
