Press Statement about ‘Russia´s Violation Report From Past to Present’
Our press statement titled as “Russia's Violation Report From Past to Present” has been released to the public at the conference held in Balaban Islamic Monastry. The main issues mentioned are given below.
Our study titled as ‘Russia's Violation Report From Past to Present’ is about the violations that Russia practiced during Tsarist Russia, Soviet and today’s Russia. Russia which has started to have a voice in world politics since the 16th century and turned into a global actor, caused the death of millions of people from Crimea to the Central Asia via its occupation, genocide and exile policies targeting the Muslim world especially since the 18th century.
In this process, Russia, with its occupation, assimilation and obligatory exile policies in the lands she dominated, caused deep trouble. These practices that started in the period of Tsarist Russia continued under the communist regime which took power after the Bolshevik revolution as well. Especially Soviet under Stalin, caused gash due to his rigid practices.
Russia maintains her goal to take part in world politics as a determining actor after the end of the Cold War and the dissolution of Soviet . The annexation of Crimea, the policies towards neighbouring countries such as Ukraine and Georgia, the attitude in Syrian Civil War and especially the occupation of Chechnya are the primary examples of Russia’s cruel policies.
Our study aims at presenting the policies of Russia all over the world and the outcomes of these policies.
Undoubtedly, there has always been violations of rights in every period of time and in every region. However, our study titled as ‘Violation Reports of Countries from Past to Present’ aims at testing the realness of the discourses of the states having high-potency worldwide which claims to represent peace, freedom and equality and openning this problem to discussion.
